About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the CFO and Executive Management Team reporting on the ongoing operations of the business including monthly financial reporting, preparation of audit, annual budget and financial administration. The role will also support M&A and debt financing activities including transaction support and co-ordination of due diligence activities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
Prepare and assist in the production of consolidated group financial statements.
Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs, including variance analysis and commentary.
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across the group.
Audit & Compliance
Assist in the management and coordination of external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation and responding to auditor queries.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and internal controls.
Corporate Finance & Transactions
Provide transaction support for debt finance including data gathering, analysis, and preparation of financial information.
Assist in the coordination of due diligence activities for potential corporate transactions.
Support the finance team with M&A-related analysis and documentation as required.
Financial Administration & Operational Support
Support the integration of finance activiities for newly acquired assets
Provide general financial administrative support to the finance team.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests.
Support improvements in financial processes and reporting efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
3–4 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role in the energy sector
Recently qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent preferred).
Experience preparing management accounts or group financial reporting is desirable.
Exposure to audit processes and corporate finance / M&A activities is advantageous.
Skills & Attributes

High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Interest in gaining exposure to corporate finance and M&A activities
